MBM Print are pleased to announce that they have selected the Diabetes Scotland / Diabetes UK as their nominated charity for the coming year.

Employees were recently given the opportunity to put forward a charity of their choice and a short list was drawn up.

MBM Print kick started their fundraising activity on Friday 18th December with a Festive Dress down Day.

“Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with diabetes. It is the fastest growing health threat of our time and, without careful management, also one of the most devastating. One in 16 people in the UK, and one in seven people in hospital, now have diabetes.

“Diabetes UK is the only charity that cares for, connects with, and campaigns alongside and behalf of people living with diabetes. We’re here to provide support, expert advice and the opportunity to talk through the challenges people are facing.

“We campaign to ensure that everyone affected by diabetes, no matter their age, ethnicity or what type they are living with, have access to the highest quality of care.

“We lead the way in pioneering diabetes research, and the demand for Diabetes UK support for research has never been higher, and continues to grow. In 2014 alone we spent £7m on high quality projects to reduce the impact of diabetes on people’s lives.

“Often diabetes is not viewed as a serious, lifelong condition. It’s not unusual to have a conversation where the response is that ‘It’s only diabetes,’ but the challenges faced by people living with the condition every day cannot be dismissed out of hand. Together with MBM Print SCS Ltd we can make sure they are not.” (Ryan Taylor Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser, Diabetes Scotland).
